..Around 2:00 a.m. in the morning Tommy (again) woke up with croup. He had had a problem with croup when he was seven months old and had to be hospitalized. Now here it was four years later and he was again having a very bad bout. He could hardly breathe. It was horrible! He strained to breathe air into his lungs. As he was gasping, he could hardly talk but managed to ask, "Am...I...going...to...die?" After that he began to panic and started kicking his feet and swinging his arms.
I kept telling him that he was NOT going to die and that he needed to calm down so he could breathe more easily.
My husband ran to the camp manager’s house and pounded and pounded at their door until they woke up and came to the door. They called for an ambulance but told him it was over an hour away.
I called out to God for help and asked Him what to do. I had been trying to help Tommy, but I really didn't know what else to do.....Get the Book!
...I was a very miserable and unhappy child. I was hurting emotionally most of the time. I didn’t think anyone loved me. I just wanted to die. I now know that when people don’t feel anyone loves them or cares about them, they will sometimes react in destructive ways. I thought about crashing my car into a cement overpass on the highway many times, but I never did make the attempt.
Because I grew up in so much pain and didn’t feel well most of the time, I became crabby, mean, and bossy. I didn’t have many friends as I was growing up and all my siblings hated me. I was very insecure and angry at the whole world. I hated everybody.....

...That particular afternoon "Hard Copy" was airing a story about a homosexual who was trying to prove to the police department and city authorities that his neighbor was harassing him just because he was gay.
As a result, he set up a video camera in his car and parked the car across the street from his house. When his neighbor exited his own home, the gay guy started spraying him with a water hose. The neighbor’s response was not a good one. He ran over and started beating the homosexual guy down to the ground and then began kicking him while he was down. All the while the video camera was recording the incident.
My first thought was, "Oh well, I guess he deserved it. He did, in fact, intentionally spur him on and homosexuals purposely spread AIDS to innocent victims....."
